Of course the President’s Cup took center stage this last weekend in what turned out to be an incredible week of golf. Toss in some reviews wrapping up and other exciting conversation and it was a jam packed week.
Presidents Cup: Another Comeback at Medinah
The International Team actually had the U.S. in a pretty uncomfortable position heading into Sunday, leading 10.5-7.5 after three days at Medinah. Then the Americans absolutely flipped the script in singles, taking 9.5 of the 12 available points to come back and win 17-13.
Jackson Koivun and Collin Morikawa both made big comebacks on the back nine and Jacob Bridgeman eventually delivered the winning point with a 1-up victory over Min Woo Lee. It gives the U.S. its 11th consecutive Presidents Cup, but honestly, the most interesting part was watching the International Team come so close to changing the story before the Americans completely took over Sunday.
Another week of team golf, another pretty entertaining finish. After the Solheim Cup and now the Presidents Cup, I’m already looking forward to the next time we get to do this.
